Special Education

Special education students, as much as possible per each individualized education plan, will be educated with general education students in the regular classroom. Special education staff, program services and individual education plans for students will be provided in accordance with federal and state special education rules. As appropriate, the school will provide special services and will contract for any special services needed, such as speech and occupational therapy.

All teachers in the academy accept responsibility for all students in their classroom and modify, accommodate and adjust teaching techniques and classroom activities to meet the unique learning abilities of all children. Special education staff works in partnership with the regular classroom teachers with this process.
